Not a lot of people had heard of PewDiePie, until his beef with Indian music brand, T-series became public knowledge. For the uninitiated, T-series and PewDiePie were contesting to be the number one channel with the highest number of subscribers on YouTube. The competition ended earlier this month, when T-series was declared to be the winner.

However, PewDiePie has moved past that and is now taking steps into the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. Announcing the move, he stated that he was tying up with a blockchain-enabled streaming channel known as DLive, which would reward its users for streaming content creators. He said, “I’m partnering up with Dlive, it is a live streaming platform… Dlive’s mission is to empower creators… through their revolutionary reward system… personally, I think its really cool to have creator-based website, actually putting creators first. I’m really excited about Dlive and I’m really excited to be live streaming again.”

He added that he would be donating to all those content creators who livestream on DLive which will be airing on April 14. He said, “I will be donating any amount between $10,000 to $50,000, at the time.”

The platform also announced the news on its Twitter. DLive said, “We want to welcome a new member to the DLive family- @pewdiepie will now be streaming exclusively on DLive. https://dlive.tv/pewdiepie He will #SupportCreators by donating up to $50,000 to a maximum of 100 streamers.”

A user on the feed asked, “Ok so I know I’m stupid, but is the stream going to be on an extra website or here on twitter? I’m sorry I’ve never heard of this before.” To which, a DLive Team Member replied, “Yes, http://DLive.tv ! We are a livestreaming platform and the biggest yet that functions on the LINO Blockchain, check it out :D”
